My approach to counseling prioritizes establishing a supportive therapeutic alliance. I am passionate about working collaboratively with clients to create a space in which they can tap into their emotions, discuss personal topics, and work toward their goals. My therapeutic style often involves the use of mindfulness-based interventions, examination of patterns that exist in clients’ relationships, identification of clients’ strengths, and enhancing clients’ coping skills. I have
training and experience in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Time-Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy. Many clients have expressed appreciation for my authenticity, warmth, and caring nature.
I specialize in effective therapy for individuals who are suffering from anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and assertiveness issues. I strive to understand the experiences of people who identify as members of minority communities (e.g. members of the LGBTQ+ community, people of color, people who are differently-abled). I welcome clients from all walks of life and find it very meaningful to explore aspects of intersecting identities. I have a background in working in university counseling centers for many years. If you have any questions for me, I would be happy to consult with you by phone prior to scheduling an appointment.
