Christa Loveland Licensed Clinical Social Worker 503-922-5950 [email protected] Schedule: Contact for current availability |
I have dedicated over 25 years to the field of social work, driven by a deep passion for advocacy, healing, and empowerment. My career began with a commitment to victims’ rights and child abuse prevention, which led me to design and direct nonprofit programs for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault—including a year-long transitional housing program for women and children. This program was honored by being selected for presentation at the National Association of Social Work and Education.
My clinical experience is rooted in trauma-informed care and family systems work. I have over six years of experience providing family reunification therapy, supporting children as they re-engage with their primary caregivers. I am skilled in modalities such as Trauma and Attachment Therapy, DBT, Family Systems, and expressive therapies including sand-tray, which I first trained in while working with children who had experienced complex trauma.
In addition to working in community mental health for more than five years, where I supported adults with persistent mental health challenges, I also partnered with Family Recovery Support VOA to help African American families navigating child welfare involvement. I have been in private practice for five years, continuing my work with individuals and families to foster healing, resilience, and reconnection.
I hold a B.A. in Family & Human Services from the University of Oregon and a Master’s in Social Work from Portland State University, where I graduated at the top of my class.
Outside of my work, I find joy in spending time with my five grown children and six grandchildren, traveling, beach-combing, and exploring waterfalls across the Pacific Northwest.
