Hello, my name is Chris Hammond. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Addictions Specialist level one. I provide my services both in person and virtually. I offer evening and weekend hours to help my clients access care flexibly.
I work with my clients from an Existential and Client-centered perspective. What this means is that I see the primary goal of therapy as being to help my clients discover themselves more fully, and to move toward living with greater authenticity, meaning, and clarity of purpose. I help clients to look at big questions and use that to increase connection with themselves and others. I help clients move through life transitions: grief, illness, graduation, divorce, etc. I believe that these moments are an opportunity to examine yourself fully, and learn to engage with life more intimately, especially when things are hard. I come to this work with curiosity, compassion, and contemplation. I look forward to getting to know you and helping to build a collaborative and authentic relationship in therapy.

I hold a Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology. I studied at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, and have worked in Community Mental Health on both the East and West Coast prior to venturing into private practice work. I have a broad breadth of experience as a therapist and have worked with a variety of clinical populations in the community.
In my practice I utilize a number of Evidence Based Modes of therapy regularly. I have a strong foundation in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), among many others. In our work we will work to define which forms of therapy may be effective for your unique needs and to help you achieve your treatment goals.
